As an Owner/Manager, recruiting top performers to join your team is job #1.  Recently, I recruited to my coaching team Ann Arthur Holloman who was listed as one of
Real Estate’s Who’s Who.  Recently, I sat down with Ann and asked her to share her success on how she grew from one office to five.

The following is a compilation of her comments that I want to share with you, that you need to put into practice now:

RECRUITING

Recruiting is a numbers game.  To start, make sure you have a mailing list of all the agents you wish to recruit and send them a news letter showcasing company growth as you continue to grow.

No’s will be BIG with most of your prospects. When collecting “no’s” from prospects, that is actually good for business. You have succeeded.  You are doing your job!  The hard part is the “no’s” will often turn to “yes” over a 5 year period.  Yes, I said five years.

Establish a monthly goal.  If you want to get 4 agents, logic suggests that you have to speak to 20 people.  Very few people will ever request that you never speak to them again.  On the contrary, most agents will answer in the affirmative when you ask if it would be all right to send them information from time to time.

Repetition is essential in the recruiting game. The more you speak with or write to an agent the better he or she gets to know you.  You begin by planting doubts about the agent’s current situation in the agent’s mind.  You tend those doubts through further meetings and mail-outs and eventually you reap the rewards of your efforts by signing the person to your company.

MAKING IT WORK

-Must be committed.

-No excuses.

-First thing.

-Must be your main function.

-Do not pass on to anyone else.  No temporary leadership.

-Company attraction comes with attitude.

THE IMPORTANCE OF RECRUITING

-If you don’t recruit, you damage your credibility.

-Overcome your shyness.

-Always recruit, exercise your vocal cords.

-With every Sales Associate you recruit, you increase your creditability and become more valuable.

-Shoot for spectacular growth.
